DVgate Plus
Click to DVD software enables you to easily create your own DVDs using the DVD recording drive on your computer.
DVgate Plus (DVGP) is a multi-purpose application for importing and outputting video and digital movies on your VAIO "computer".
Use it to capture video from external devices, perform simple editing operations, and output video data that you can then record to videotape or save on your computer.
DVgate Plus operates in two major modes: Capture Mode and Output Mode. Select Capture Mode to capture video or Output Mode to perform simple editing operations and output video data.
DVgate Plus primarily operates in either Capture or Output mode.
The mode setting is indicated at the top left of the window.
Use the Capture Mode to capture video from external devices to your VAIO computer.
-
Auto Capture Mode
This mode captures all the available video from the external device.
Video capture in this mode captures all the video from the DV/HDV/MICROMV external device to your VAIO computer. -
Manual Capture Mode
This mode captures only the video in a manually specified range.
In this mode, you specify the capture range while playing the video. -
Batch Capture Mode
This mode captures the video of selected scenes.
In this mode, scenes that have been recorded on tape are selected before capturing. With a DV/HDV device, you can set the scene you want to capture while playing the video. -
Still Capture Mode
This mode captures images from video. This mode is not available for HDV external devices.
You can take the images and save them in JPEG or BMP format
Use Output Mode to edit video and record to tape or save as a file.
DVgate Plus is my choice when it comes to easy but high-end digital video capturing. First I connect my DV camcorder via i.LINK to my VAIO. Windows automatically asks me with an auto start pop-up what to do. I select DVgate Plus and click on OK.
The software opens quickly and greets me with a nice Mode Select Guide which helps me to start the right modus. I can capture video or still images from a camcorder as well as edit clips that I already have on my disk.
